Fuck you. You ruin the whole scene with your pill popping I dont give two shits about the music attitude. Your the reason good djs play in 21+ shows, and your the reason why I can't enjoy myself on the weekends without having to go to some second rate club in the ghetto surrounded by a bunch of zombies, YOU. Your the reason why I have to wait 2 years to be satisfied because you can't seem to grow up a little. Try going sober sometimes, or try dancing a little, at least know who the fucking dj is when you see him. Whatever, im done. im out. peace

I think what he means is yes drugs have been in the scene since the beginning and before the scene wasnt even fathomed. But the problem is the people that do drugs at parties now to people who did them way back when have changed, these kids now go to parties so the music will enhance the drugs. When it used to be the drugs would enhance the music. Thats why you see all these kids on the floor rolling around in there own filth instead of dancing, they dont come for the music.

listen pal, put your old school card back in your wallet cause i dont give two shits

im glad that there are 21+ clubs because then every club would be like the globe

hey sorry i dont drugs at clubs....i guess that makes me uncool, my bad. And anyways i was talking about ILLegal hard drugs, not LEGAL drugs...such as alcohol that is served LEGALLY. But the thing is when people are on alcohol it gives them the sudden urge to dance, not lay on the floor and spooge themselves all night.

This is why I condone 18/21 clubs because you get a little of both in the mix. But not everyone does this because kids will abuse their privledges and ruin it for everyone. I get to miss a lot of opportunities to see the djs i love.

Actually, I think it's Grape Jelly is the downfall of the Rave Scene. Peanut Butter however does nothing more than enhance the pleasure to all the sober folks. :D

If you notice that those parties back in the day were before the internet and before we had a site called PlurPlanet with a message board. The internet was born and so were message boards and this site and then people started hating on each other and the scene started going downhill.

What about the people who are older than you who came along just after the commercialization of the scene, would go out to parties just to abuse various illicit substances irresponsibly consequently attracting the attention of government agencies and the media thereby causing heavy handed action on the part of the police, and then moving on to the next fad or getting out of school and forgetting about the scene all together, leaving us with what we have now?

I'd say the late 20's to early 30's group.

well in my city that isn't really the majority
i can't prove that, but i'm almost certain
But you really don't see a large majority of these people at places like the globe, they would be at the 21+ clubs because that is what attracts them.
i mean, a kid 18 or younger says that he goes to "raves" or "parties" automatically get a reputation of doing drugs and so forth......

hoppy
04-04-2004, 10:38 AM
I think they're not the majority because they've dropped partying all together, not just the 18+ venues. They were the ones who made up the crowds at the massives of years past when partying and plur were the trendy thing to do, and were the ones who gave the scene the drug crazed reputation it has now, though they've all moved on, gone to jail, gotten jobs, gotten married, had kids, etc. While the next group has to deal with the mess.

That's the way I see it anyway.

The internet has been around since the 70's. Its the message boards that make people jaded because you interact with people you normally would during the weekends, for only a short time which means you can handle it but if your talking to them more and more you start to notice flaws or your talking to them for the wrong reason and feel the consequences of it which make you more and more jaded towards those people. Since humans have to stereotype everything from one little thing, they look at these people that are either A. fucking them over or B. Annoying as shit that you would only actually talk to them if you were fucked up....associate it with the entire rave scene/community. Also when you slowly grow up you realise life is not about PLUR and never will be and being cynical sorta laugh at the kids who havent expierienced lifes harsh lesson yet because growing up yourself people did the same thing. *I say you as the plural tense as in everyone not just you, Tracy, this isnt directed at you but everyone in the scene haters or not*
Then start going to the 21 and up venues.
Simply put....hes not 21

I don't know, this rant is turning into a decent debateI can agree with you on the 21 and older that do ruin the scene with their habitual drug use and no respect towards the music. They were like that before, and they are like that now. I think Jimmy makes the most valid point in this rant.

well....

this is interesting....

i for one, agree with most on this...however....there are plenty of people that dont do drugs (they have but they 'grew up") and they still know how to have a good time and enjoy the music....i was into the music way before i ever did any of the drugs....and it is nice to be able to go out and not see the rolly polly bunch taking up the dancefloor....that is one of the things that turned me onto the dnb scene...and yes there are different things that are associated with that, which is a road that i have never ventured down. i have lost many good friends down that road...so i stay away...it al boils down to being informed on what certain things do to your body...dancesafe was at almost every party back home in chicago/madison/milwaukee, and i thought that was a great idea...having the information to know what the effects are and all of that is a good thing, and still, i didnt do anything....just having the info there in case of my freinds freaking out was prolly one of the best things out there at the time...

and yes i was always pissed at the 21+ shows that i couldnt get into, but now i have an understanding as to why it is like that....

what point are you exactly disagreeing with? Your just stating that you responsibly did drugs back in the day....and your conclusive opinion is how great being informed about the drugs while you were on them was....this doesn't really add to my rant or take away. My point being was that stupid kids go to shows for the wrong reason, act in the wrong manner, and this thus creates the need for 21+ only venues.

I can't really understand your situation... seeing (and I am not trying to pull out the ols school card) as when I was your age all the shows were 18+ (some even all ages back then) but I can understand your argument about the Few badd apples ruining it for the responsible ones... back when I was under 18 the promoters and Club Kids back then knew that even though you were underage you were there for the music and they would get you into the place anyway they could... can't do that now b/c of the times that parties did get raided back then and the cops found under age kids in there and then would start raiding them more...

Sorry about the ramble... I got nuffin else

Well to be honest, I went to my first party at 16 and it was straight. This party(sandra collins cream cd release party) was even straight, huge crowd, hardly any floor tards (compared to now). Maybe its just getting worse as the years progress, but that's why I am complaining. For example, Sandra Collins latest show was 21+, and after listening to her Perfecto Presents cd I would kill to see her live (yes yes i know about her rep, who the fuck cares). Kids nowadays won't try and sneak into 21+ parties because they don't give a damn about the music..........they can go to the globe or some shit and do their thing.
