I HATE NASCAR!!!

This guy that my friend has kinda been dating invited us to go to the races with him and a whole bunch of his friends yesterday...

WORST DAY EVER!

First off, buddy got drunk and was hanging all over some other girl (and she was butt ugly). They also mysteriously disappeared for about an hour. hmm....

Second, I have never seen so many drunk, obnoxious people in one place. It's one thing to get drunk and have fun and handle it, but it's another to get drunk and be ANNOYING AS HELL!!

Third, I got sunburned as hell even though I put on sunblock and the noise from the cars was unbearable. Next time...earplugs. OH WAIT, there will never be a next time.

Fourth, we were suppossed to grill out, which we did....sort of. That had to be the most unsanitary handling of meat I have ever seen. After he cooked it, he wanted to take it in the race with him. So he just dropped all of the cooked meat down into his cooler of beer which had water and ice in it. So there was just all this meat floating around. Because of this, I didn't get anything to eat at all yesterday until after 8pm.
And this isn't a dumb guy. He's a lawyer. He has to have some kind of intelligence.

Fifth, this guy I know from highschool was trying to talk to me and I couldn't understand anything he was saying AT ALL. Unfortunately the only thing I caught was "can I have your number?". So how do you tell somebody you know, "um, hell no"?

Sixth, I had a headache so bad I threw up. And I couldn't find any tylenol, ibuprofin, etc. anywhere.

And on top of all of this, THERE WAS NO ESCAPE!!! Traffic for DAYS!!! So my friend and I were just stuck there.

NASCAR SUCKS! It's absolutely pointless.

Ellen - i totally feel you. i went down there on Saturday because this girl i'm talking to was working at the Alltell area where the bands were playing. i would have never gone otherwise because i hate nascar. long story short, i got in a little fender bender while down there.:mad:

actually the turnouts have been decreasing steadily but if you really think that more people attend nascar races than soccer events then okay... popularity isn't justification anyway. we all know how popular pro-wrestling is but ummm yeah... to each their own.

And honestly I've never enjoyed going to the races. The only reason I know anything about NASCAR is because my family travelled with the NASCAR circuit for several years...and naturally growing up, I was dragged along. I do however, have to give NASCAR credit, especially now that it's moving out of the south and gaining popularity in places such as Las Vegas.

Road Atlanta is only 5 minutes from me. I go to the Petit Le Mans every year. I would recommend this race to anyone! I've met Panoz before over at the Chateau Elan golf resort and he's actually a nice man.
