Ok, so maybe not all men are like this, but the ones that I am shitting on are the ones that act like children, and in return want you to be their mother. Men that won't pay their half of the bills, or do their share of the housework, or even pay for dinner when they take YOU out.

I will go ahead and say this. It is hard to find a good PERSON out there. Girls are just as bad as guys now a days. I dont know why. I have had plenty of mutually beneficial, healthy relationships.... otherwise I still wouldn't get IMs by old gf's and women I dated who are now 2300 miles away... I'm not talking about "You asshole" IMs... more like "When are you coming back to LA?" IMs. Hell, I even keep in touch with an ex from the 80s. If I were a dick then there wouldn't be any reason from them keeping in contact with me.
Sorry, someone's gotta stand up from the male side... I'm not saying you have to change, but maybe accept the fact that you are choosing the wrong people. I'm sure some girls still stop and be completely satisfied that "oooh my bf is a cool dj" ... while others could care less, and care more of who he is within.
But for real... look for the signs early on to whether he is a responsible person or not.. there is no law that says you can't stop seeing someone after the 3rd, 10th, or the nth date because you have decided he isn't mature enough for you. Drop him early if you know it's going to wind up like this. I have had one complete psycho a few years ago and I am very attentive as to "who she is" <-- the person I am dating. I don't rely on first impressions (first dates) so I will see someone several times before making my mind up... good or bad.
I am in no way sticking up for whoever you are talking about... but he is who he is... and you chose him. Accept it, leave him, but don't expect to be able to *change* him.

Thanks dude, that is the most sense I have gotten out of this thread. I do know that I cannot change who he is, I never wanted to. I just want him to grow up and take responsibility for what is his. I did choose to be with him, and I do accept the fact that I chose to live with him, and whatever troubles that we come across I have to deal with. But acting like a child living in a adult world, come on, it's gotta piss you off.
