I think her wrongville posts were right on. Except for everyone on PP being an etard or shardtard... make that ex-shardtards. i think alot here have been strung out on meth and finally kicked the habit and now think all drugs are bad because of their misfortune. I feel sorry for those who had to go thru that experience simply because you didn't know any better until it was too late and you didn't have more wiser friends preventing you from doing it in the first place. Without the education and outside wisdom addition to that is an easy pitfall. In scenes where meth is absent, drugs are a normal part of the scene. The recsubs that can be integrated in to the scene are those which aren't addictive and habit forming -- and those in that scene actually stay in the scene for quite a while instead of focusing on the drug. Inject an extremely addictive drug into any community and you are going to definitely rock the boat.
In my old music collectives/scene, it was a combination of drug awareness and looking out for each other that kept the addictive drugs out of our scene.
Before I moved to Atlanta I knew only one person who was hooked on meth who was in the same scene as me. She long disappeared from the scene, last I heard bouncing around from one rehab to another. And one other very close friend of mine, relies a bit too much on pharmaceuticals and e to self medicate depression. That's about it.
All in all that is pretty weak showing with that many people against one. Vapor wins with 153 points? I don't think so. Ecko must have been calculating the totals....

Delia - I know there are plenty here who don't do drugs because they think they are stupid and not been addicted, and have learned because of seeing it happen to others. I was in the scene for years before I tried anything, but I was always ok with people doing the more tame stuff and I recognized that it really is part of the scene no matter how much people try to deny it. I accepted the reality a long time ago even tho I didn't use anything myself. To the "Want a hit?" offer, I have been "No thanks, I'm good" and that is still usually the case. So I am ok with people being in the scene who use the lesser addictive drugs or those who choose not to use. Hell 75% of the time I was in the scene I didn't use anything other than alcohol.
But since I moved here I have heard of case after case of kids getting on and then off meth. And time after time hearing those who got off it crying or getting upset when anyone mentions the word - which is why I've really only mentioned it here in wrongville. Wrongville aside, I feel sorry for those kids, would have been nice if they had friends who would have tried to prevent them from even trying it in the first place. I'm sorry I have no wrongville response to you, I agree with most of what you say (outside of wrongville)... however I don't know the Ecko kiddie so Mr Time Bandit is fair game for wrongville. And obviously me and whoever posts in here is fair game....
The only reason I moved to this fucking city was to be around my mom in her last couple of years, she's pretty fucked up from emphysema and I feel bad because I haven't even been around here in about 10 years. So everyone give her a nice Wrongville prayer for a speedy death so I can move the fuck away, as I don't have any other ties to stick around. When I get back to CA I will be sure to keep posting here, I'll post how much CA sucks compared to the awesome scene we have here.

The only reason I moved to this fucking city was to be around my mom in her last couple of years, she's pretty fucked up from emphysema and I feel bad because I haven't even been around here in about 10 years. CA does suck. I hate that state. Of course, I've spent most of my time in Pasadena when I was training and it's even more obserdly pretencious than Miami, if that's believable. Personally, I'm digging Myrtle Beach and Tybee Island a lot. They're just really chill beach bum areas of the country. *starts dreaming of moving there one day*
