The other day my best friend Kristen and I were waiting for a friend in front of Town Center mall by the Starbucks. Kristen wanted to throw some 'trash' that was in her car away (a wrapper from a straw and TWO toothpicks...let me count that again...one, two) but she wouldn't throw it out of the car herself so I did the liberty of throwing it out in the parking lot. This woman that was diagnally parked across from us in a car with what I assumed to be her husband in the passenger seat, proceeded to stare at Kristen for about 5 minutes (I was unaware of this until after the fact) and then got out of her car and start babbling to me about how she would appreciate if I would pick up the trash, blah, blah, blah...and mentioned something about a BMW (Kristen drives a beautiful, red 2003 323ci convertible.) So I told this woman I couldn't hear her (because really, I'm not going to sit there and listen to this woman bitch at me) and she gets in her car all huffy and speeds off out of the parking lot (how mature.) Kristen hollers something to her like, 'go save the world, lady' and I just shoo her away with my hand. But REALLY, why do you think it was this woman got so mad? Do you REALLY think she was mad about this tiny bit of trash (and keep in mind, this is a parking lot where TONS of kids hang out, trash it, and it gets cleaned every night) or do you think she was mad because we were two attractive, young ladies in a car that is probably three times the value of hers? I just found it ironic because that same day Kristen and I had talked about how older women can be really rude to younger girls. Kristen thinks she got so angry because, quote, "Her son didn't make it to soccer practice on time that day and her husband watches porn at night instead of fucking her. She's repressed." I think she hit the nail right on the head with that one. :)

I don't know but a lot of older people like to always tell us how to life our lives... but i'm sorry, you got your chance to live yours... now let us live ours!

Exactly. More the reason that I believe it was an attack on US, not the fucking trash. If it was some giant bag of garbage I was throwing out while driving by an animal refuge, well than, that's understandable.

Obviously, you COMPLETELY missed the point of this entire thread.

The girls get what I'm saying, though. :)

i didn't miss the point. the point was that you thought this woman overreacted to you tossing trash out in the parking lot - which, by the looks of your description, she did. that doesn't mean that somehow she's evil and wrong when you were the one who couldn't be bothered to throw out your trash. if your argument is that it was so little that no one should've cared...why was it enough that you cared that it was in the car?

MiXie
07-06-2003, 04:25 PM
The point ALSO was that I don't just think this woman overreacted because I threw out trash...I think she overreacted for others reasons such as our age, gender, and perhaps how we look. AND if you would have read a little closer, it wasn't my car, and it wasn't my trash. My friend picked it up out of her car and I threw it out for her...I really could've given two shits if it were in the car or not and I cared even less about throwing it out. Like I said, THE PARKING LOT IS CLEANED EVERY NIGHT. Frankly, the whole situation was quite stupid, but I found it humorous, thus the reason I posted it here. I find it even more ridiculous that you're trying to argue with me over it. Run along now.

Hmmmm, that is a good question, but a couple of toothpicks wont hurt anything anyway

07-06-2003, 04:39 PM
i could stab your eyes out with a couple toothpicks.. i bet that would hurt

Rinoa

Ok then let me re-phrase that: A couple of toothpicks will not hurt the environment.

Better? :D

Um, it pisses some people off. You are not supposed to litter for one and two why couldn't you throw it away when there was a trash can present? It's as simple as that. I would have to agree with Kibler. I think you have such a large ego though that you think the lady was jealous of you or something. If I saw you do it I would think you were a lazy fuck and have no respect. It doesn't matter what the hell you are throwing out of your window, the point is you are putting it in a place where it doesn't belong. It's just common courtesy and manners. So if everyone threw a straw wrapper out of their window the place would be quite trashy. Try not to read too much into it, you were in the wrong period.

I don't like it when people litter and personally I will not do it, but if I see someone i don't know do it, I'm not gonna go outta my way to get in their face about it, but I do try to encourage my friends not to litter.

Well, the point is that she doesn't think it is a big deal when it actually is annoying. I wouldn't go up to her either and say something but maybe this lady was so tired of seeing people do it that she had finally had enough. Bottom line is Mixie is assuming that the lady was jealous of her which is totally beside the point and obnoxious in itself. You did something that you should not have done; you should not have littered. It is beside the point whether it is going to be cleaned up that night or not. It is your responsibility to put it where it really needs to go. That is the bottom line.

This sounds just like the time this lady got mad at me just for letting my sweet little dog, Fluffy take a crap all over her yard.

She just comes flying out of her front door, right when Fluffy squatted (totally made Fluffy nervous), and starts screaming at me about how much time she'd spent this weekend on the yard. I mean, what is this? Its not my fault she can't afford lawn-care maintenance people, and in my opinion, it didn't look all that great anyway. I bet she's just fridged, and jealous because I look way cuter than she does anyway.
I mean, my dog is like, way prettier than hers is. Shes a bichon frise, and she wins competitions. All this lady had was some old stupid mutt, and thats probably why she got her panties in a wad like that, I mean, its not like her lawn was important, I mean, at least not as important as my Fluffy, and its not like the crap isn't gonna wash away with the rain or something. What am I supposed to do, let her crap on my lawn?? Scoop it up and put it in the can?? Are you kidding?? What a stupid idea!

Its not like she craps a lot, or on their front porches or anything?? That I could understand getting mad about!

Gawd! Some people can be so inconsiderate!

*PS.....for the extremely vapid, and otherwise mentally challenged, that was all complete sarcasm.

oh! well thank you!

These are the same people that jog up and down the middle of busy roads because they want to exercise, and then steal the handicapped spaces at the grocery store so they don't have to walk so far.

Jesus. Please turn all the yuppies into trash-collectors, and school lunch-ladies. Amen.

a little trash on the ground never hurt anyone. But then again, imagine the millions of people throwing a "little" trash on the ground each day. That adds up. So what if it was a little trash. The fact is it is trash. They created Trashcans for a reason, So people dont throw trash on the ground. Littering is just plain disrespectful in the fact that someone, on a street sweeper or not, has to pick up your trash for you, because you couldnt just walk to a designated trash deposit spot and dispose your own waste. So what if its just a straw wrapper and TWO toothpicks. It doenst look attractive laying on the ground, and doesnt do any good. Instead of complaining about a woman who told you off for not doing what youre SUPPOSED to do with your trash, Maybe you should invest in a trashbag for your cars so you can keep it clean, and get rid of it in a trashcan next time you cross one.

Half of you people, I don't know, and you don't know me, so really, your opinions don't matter. I don't KNOW if this woman was jealous of us, but in mine and Kristen's personal experience (we've been friends for nearly 10 years now), older women act snidey towards us for some reason or another. Maybe it's the way we carry ourselves (God FORBID we are self assured), maybe it's the way we dress or whatnot, WHO KNOWS. If this woman was pissed off about the trash and the trash ONLY, why would she make a comment about the CAR Kristen drives? Does the fact that she drives a nice car have anything to do with me littering? No, not at all, and it was uncalled for. Hence the reason why we assumed the jealousy.

you just said you didnt understand what the comment she said about her car was.

maybe it was "keep your trash in your car and off of the ground" or "thats a nice car, i hope you dont trash it like you do the ground"

you just dont know

In this woman's jealous rage, I seriously doubt she was completementing the car. The car was COMPLETELY irrelevant. And so is this. And Cosmobaby - your story was NOT witty nor FUNNY. Try again. Oh, wait - please don't. :twitch:
