I just grab one out of the recycle bin at the hospital. Works great!!!

i've been using the stanton trackmaster II's but have not been able to scratch with them hardly w/o the needles jumping.
i've been advised to try the ortofon's or just put more weight on the arm... what do you recommend? when compared which ones are better for sctatchin'

anyone know why an elliptical needle is supposedly superior to a spherical one? I'm just curious because I have both tips for my Ortofons [yellow night club tips - elliptical, black pro-s tips - spherical] and I was told the night club tips were the best you can have by the guy at the store.

hmmm I would like to get some trackmaster II's also, looks like u guys don't have prob's w/ them...and so far i only got the ones that came w/ the tables and nasty dj craze 520's

I am a firm believer that the Ortofon OM Nightclubs (Cartridge mounted, not concorde) sphere type needles are the absolute best for all around use. In terms of frequency range, these things are fucking nice... provides nice highs, mids, and lows clear across the board. Also, stability. If you use a technics cartridge guage, you can mount these babies perfectly on your headshell so that they'll ride at the exact mm standard they are supposed to. For those of you who like turntablism, these go great with a little 4 gram weight on top ( new headshell style :m3d: ). I think I got them for around 80 a piece (although that was about 2 years ago), so good luck and happy mixing ;)
